Tai Chi Chuan
Tai chi Chuan is a system of physical exercise based on the principles of effortless breathing, rhythmic movement, and weight equilibrium. It is also designed to serve as a method of self defense. As such, it can be practiced by an individual alone in a limited space. It can be practiced by two opponents, one taking the offensive and the other defensive. It requires no equipment, except a loose fitting garment which permits continuous rhythmic bodily movements.
The principle movements of Tai chi Chuan aim primarily at exercising the internal organs. It can be practised by the weak, the sick, athletes, the aged as well as children. The calming, relaxing feeling Tai chi creates is great stress relief. It’s really about restoring all your body’s systems to an optimal level of performance.
